Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales - Milodón Cave - Pehoé Lake - Grey Lake & Glacier - Trekking to the base of the Torres - Del Francés Valley
6-days expedition, beginning every Saturday from January and February 2009 and ending on Thursday
Thousands of years ago strange animals populated Patagonia. One was the Milodón, a sort of bear who stood on two legs supported by its large tail. The Milodón roam in this extraordinary natural scenery of the current National Park Torres del Paine, at the foot of the rocky mountains, crowned with eternal ice striking surrounded by lakes, rivers, waterfalls and forests. Have spent thousands of years that erased the traces of Milodón, are today the most beautiful and exciting paths to enjoy breathtaking walks around this landscape where nature shows its immensity.
Itinerario:
Day 1: Arrival at the airport or city of Punta Arenas in the morning (please flight confirmation or place of accommodation).
Transfer to Pto. Natales, accommodation at the hotel.
The visit to the Milodón Cave makes an attractive walk to the viewpoints with stunning views to the Seno de la Ultima Esperanza and its surrounding mountains. Return to Puerto Natales where a typical dinner at a restaurant with the option of tasting some of the specialty of magallanic cuisine such as the crab or lamb "al Palo" (a genuine barbecue). (Lunch and dinner not included).
Day 2: Transfer to the sector of Laguna Verde, starting point of our beautiful trekking in a trail up the Rio Paine, through lush forests and pristine Lengas, Andean small lakes with impressive views over the Cordillera del Paine. Arrival at our base camp on Lake Pehoe equipped with excellent facilities. For dinner, barbecue in the style of Pared Sur. Include all meals.
Day 3: Trip to Grey Lake with a beautiful walk along the peninsula and the beach, overlooking the majestic Grey Glacier. Return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon, a lovely excursion to the viewpoints of "del Condor", Salto Grande and Paine looking out the Nordenskjol lake. Back to our base camp, will enjoy another delightful dinner in the style of Pared Sur. All meals included. Optional: this day there is an option to make a navigation on the Grey lake with sighting of the front of the glacier and floating icebergs, combined with a walk with crampons on the glacier ice.
This option is subject to weather conditions.
Day 4: Hike to the spectacular lagoon at the foot of Torres del Paine, return to the campsite Pehoe (7 hrs.).
Day 5: A navigation cross of Pehoe Lake (ticket navigation is paid by each passenger) to make another trip to the beautiful Del Frances Valley. Navigation return and transfer to the camp. All meals included.
Day 6: Transfer to Puerto Natales by the beautiful road along Porteño and Toro Lake.
Lunch by your own and transfer to Punta Arenas. End of our service. Include breakfast.
Includes: 6-days, 1 night accommodation in Pto. Natales in double or triple rooms (Francis Drake or similar), 4 nights at our base camp with excellent restrooms, showers with hot water and other facilities. Meals described in the program based on buffet breakfast, picnic lunch with options for sandwich, fresh & dried fruit, energy snacks, appetizers and a delicious dinner accompanied with chilean wine. All transfers and logistic support, sorts of equipment, camping equipment on the basis of bedroom tents Mountain Hardwear Trango 4 and North Face VE 25, Domo diningroom Mountain Hardwear Space Station implemented with tables, tablecloth, glasses, dishes, lighting and so on.

Not included: Air tickets, insurance, meals in Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas, navigations and optional excursions, other services not specified in the program.
Optional: Upgrade the hotel in Puerto Natales, walking through the ice and navigation on Pehoe and Grey Lake (the confirmation of these navigations is subject to the weather conditions and intensity of the wind).
Options to arrive Pta. Arenas:
Departure Flights: Arrive the same day 1 in the first flights in the morning (before noon) or the day before Punta Arenas.
Return Flights: Return the same day 6 in the afternoon, ideally after 16.00 hrs.
